"Hiding Right Before Your Eyes"
Description: Although you can easily make out this Alligator in this photograph, I can assure you it was very well hidden in real life. As I was looking at it, trying to determine the angle I wanted to use in my photograph,, two backpacking hikers approached. As we spoke, one glanced over at what I had been looking at and asked if that was an alligator over there. Then he answered his own question with "No, but it sure looked like one for a moment." As they walked away, I smiled to myself, lowered my tripod to the spot I had chosen, and took this shot. I've not seen a lot of alligators up close, but the coloring of this one, looking black and white, really seemed unusual and beautiful to me.
