Two Short-billed Dowitchers (Limnodromus griseus) probe for crustaceans and plant material in the shallow waters of Pond 7, at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve in Arizona. Their feeding activity has been called a "Sewing Machine Method", due to the rapidity of their up and down head movements.
